Chairman's Townhall

The annual Chairman’s Townhall, held in February 2020, provided a platform for RPGians to interact with the Chairman of the Group, Harsh Goenka. Over 250 employees attended the event at Worli, while several others joined in from across the country via webcast. The Chairman used this opportunity to share insights on the economy, evaluate the Group’s performance and provide guidance on the way forward.

RPG GROUP

Over the past five years, RPG Group has seen a steady growth in its revenue, EBITDA and PAT, across all its companies. The Chairman stressed on the need to become financially prudent, employ sustainable practices, engage continuously with the investor community, maintain healthy corporate governance and increase overall focus on innovation and digitalisation in order to achieve the high outperformance targets set by the Group.

KEC INTERNATIONAL

With its order-book at a healthy ₹20,000+ crore, KEC has been delivering a growth that is sustainable on various levels including profits. In FY20, KEC entered the Urban Infra sector by securing orders for the construction of four projects for Delhi Metro, Kochi Metro and Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System. With an EPC footprint in over 70 countries, KEC also maintains a leadership position in its core Transmission & Distribution business and continues a steady rise in its civil and railway businesses.

CEAT

Chairman Harsh Goenka congratulated the team for successfully steering it towards a billion dollar revenue company. This, in the midst of a stormy auto-sector, was a milestone that set new parameters of performance. The company has begun commercial production at their new plant which has added to their capacity. It also continues to steadily focus on the areas of women employment, diversity and environment at all its locations. The Chairman urged the team to take advantage of emerging opportunities such as electric vehicles, which is expected to bode well for the tyre sector.

ZENSAR TECHNOLOGIES

Two years ago, the company launched Vision 2021 aiming to be among the world’s leading digital and IT players. As revenues continue to improve, Zensar has stayed committed to converting into a 100% 'living' digital organisation by scaling the realm of living AI. In fact, the case-study of this transformation has been included as part of the study-programme in world-renowned institutes such as Harvard Business School, London Business School and Indian School of Business.

RAYCHEM RPG

Raychem continued to face a challenging FY19-20 due to sluggish global demand and a slowdown in domestic investments. The company has however witnessed a remarkable turnaround in its Transformers business and exponential growth in the Oil & Gas business. The Chairman was proud to announce that the company has inducted its second batch of people with disabilities at the Vasai plant.

RPG LIFE SCIENCES

RPG Life Sciences recorded its highest ever PBT with a growth of 2.6x from last year. With three prestigious awards secured from the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association for Company, Patent and CSR, this is a first of many for the proud team.

HARRISONS MALAYALAM

The team at Harrisons Malayalam continues to work tirelessly to identify solutions to various obstacles hurled along its way, be it natural disasters or a dip in tea prices. The rubber business with its steady progress and non-traditional revenue streams such as holiday programmes, tea-museum and gifting solutions continue to contribute to the business.

RPG VENTURES

Seniority continues to build steadily as it launched its own range of private label products, in addition to starting two more stores in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. RPG Ventures concluded an investment through CEAT in E-Fleet Systems, to add to CEAT’s recently launched fleet advisory services business. Investments with KEC are currently under evaluation, with the intent to promote a more digitally-enabled way to operate the infra company.
